Juggling Being A Mum & Exercise

Eat your breakfast, put your shoes on, hurry up, OMG seriously your shoes aren't on yet, quick lets go, hop in the car, you didn't eat your breakfast and where are your shoes. I'm sure a lot of mums can relate. I find my mornings can be so stressful and that I'm running against time. My days can be crazy enough being a mum of two and then trying to manage my business and giving time for myself it can get a bit crazy! My biggest tip is PLAN PLAN PLAN.

It's taken me some years to get that haha, I've always been a routine mum however once I started juggling clients with my kids routine life became tricky. Some days I get up at 4am and I'm not in bed until 11pm because you just don't STOP.

Alright so I plan my weeks out well in advanced so I can see what I can squeeze in and do. I 100% believe this is the best way to manage your weeks especially with kids and a job. Not to long ago I was working a full time 9 to 5 job studying full time and also working a night job teaching dance classes. To say my life was crazy back then is an understatement it was insane! I really look back and think how did u do it Cindy! But I managed and actually smashed everything I needed done. I still got up early, kids were at kindy on time, I still had a gym session everyday and still managed to submit all my assignments on time. I did feel like I was on top of myself at times but our routine worked and it was great.

When I decided to give up my job and pursue my career as a personal trainer things got a little trickier as I am working early morning, afternoons and nights so everything has to be strictly in routine. I manage my weeks and days so strictly that I put in diary my clients, gym sessions, school drops off, appointments right down to what needs to be done in the house examples; mowing, weeding, cleaning windows and tip runs. Holy moly yep scary to think how much needs to be done when you put it to paper.

I find structuring my diary I guess you can say like this has made life so much easier!!!! I seriously cannot express how much easier. So I may not get to the gym some days maybe because of sick kids, the whether or simple something popped up but I will try to do something that day. I usually walk every morning after school drop off sometimes for only 15 minutes hey it got my body moving and that's my main goal.

I will list some tips to get your body moving everyday even if it is for only 15 minutes:

1. Get it out the way first thing

Workout before the day gets away from you. Set that alarm a little earlier while the kids are in bed and smash an at home circuit or simply go for a walk as soon as those little kiddies get up.

2. Schedule it

I know it sounds weird to schedule your session but it works. If you run a tight game find a time that works for you and schedule it every week just as if you were to schedule an appointment. Think of this as an appointment to help change your lifestyle.

3.Include your kids

Yep I said it, they are amazing weights and love to follow what mum is doing. If your working out and your kids are climbing all over you why not use it to your advantage ladies, They are some awesome extra weight for those butt raise or squats even lift them above your head for some shoulder presses. They will love it and your still spending that quality time with them.

4.Make the Playground your Gym

Kids been going crazy all day inside why not walk down to the local playground and smash out a session on the equipment there. Monkey Bars = Pull ups or Chin Ups a Swing smash out some Tuck Knees you can even use the stairs and do some Box Jumps. The list is endless.

5.Be a Ninja

Sometimes you need to be stealth and you really just haven't had the time. Well your cooking dinner right now aren't you while your stirring that mince why not squat now do some squat pulse oh and why not that squat hold sounds fun right cooking while smashing a mini circuit such a ninja ladies.

At the end of the day life can get in the way sick kids, appointments, injured or just simply not enough times some days and that's okay do not be hard on your self. You need to accept it and move on tomorrow is always a new day. Never beat yourself up and feel you need to make up that session because you do not. Also don't go comparing yourself to other mums we are all so different

our lives are all so different none of us are the same. You do what is best for you ladies.
